Designed with family and friends in mind
Villa Saltareccio is a 19th century farmhouse, whose charm and
character is still visible, though faded through lack of care in
recent years. The villa is set in the peaceful and picturesque
countryside of the Le Marche, near the hilltown of Altidona in
Ascoli Piceno province. It overlooks its own 14 acre estate and
olive grove, and provides breathtaking views down the valley to
the Adriatic Sea.
Onto this historic canvas, Opus Italia will create a bright, contemporary
living space which blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. A
five bedroom home of rare character and quality, that is designed
with family and friends in mind.
At the heart of the villa will be a vast, open plan kitchen, with
a large central island around which you can gather to prepare your
meals from the abundance of local produce – or simply sit
and chat over a glass of wine. The kitchen will be fully fitted
to include two ovens, a range, two dishwashers and an American
fridge with the prerequisite ice dispenser.
The kitchen extends into a dining area, which enjoys sweeping views
over the pool and hillside beyond. This opens out, through
five double doors, onto the pergola terrace, where another table
will be situated to take advantage of those warm evenings for eating
al fresco, or for escaping from the midday sun over lunch.
On the northern side of the building will be the study, where the
existing bread oven will be retained as an architectural feature,
as well as the original farmhouse doors, that open out to look
over the tennis court. Here you can work or study, keeping
in touch by broadband, telephone and fax. If work is
definitely not on your agenda, you can use the study as a peaceful
escape and browse the library of books that we trust will evolve
over the years. There will also be a sofa bed and an en
suite bathroom to accommodate extra guests.
Adjoining the study will be a second living area - a more intimate
space, with an open fireplace and comfy sofas. With a large, flat
screen TV, satellite, surround sound audio and music system, film
and CD library, it’s the perfect place to relax, to enjoy
a film night, or to see in Christmas and New Year, Italian style.
Upstairs there will be five spacious double bedrooms, each with
an en suite modern bathroom. Two of the bedrooms will have large
balconies overlooking the pool area, and all will be blessed with
sweeping views of the mountains or sea.
Beautifully appointed, superbly finished
Contemporary Italian interior design is renowned for its clean
lines, and calm hues, distinctive colour accents and designer brands.
Villa Saltareccio will be no exception, drawing on the talents
of leading Italian interior designers and furniture makers to create
an inspiring, calm and comfortable living space in which you can
wind down, and truly relax.
All will be finished to the very highest specification, complete
with underfloor heating and cooling, satellite TV and wi-fi technology.
We’ll even take care of everything from beach towels and
bicycles, to bed linen and board games, so that you are free to
enjoy every precious moment, of every holiday.
Part of the landscape
From an early stage in formulating the plans for the development
and restoration of Villa Saltareccio, the landscaping of the estate
has been a priority. Beyond the swimming pool, which will
drop away on one side, is the decking area for sunbathing, the
tennis court, the barbeque and boule area. There will be further
planting of olive, fruit and cypress trees.
To ensure that the outside areas are maintained to the proper standard,
Opus will include an irrigation system and has commissioned a highly
trained and professional landscape architect to not only design
these areas but oversee them for the next three years.
Villa Saltareccio has its own private olive grove, which will continue
to be farmed as part of a local co-operative. As an owner of the
villa you will share in the income from the estate’s award
winning olive oil, and enjoy the delights of your own freshly bottled
harvest too!
